How long would it take for the Herpes Virus to die if the nerves it infected died?

Posted by admin on January 23rd, 2009

If the Sacral Nerve Root Ganglia (S2-S5) where Herpes Simplex Virus 2 (genital herpes) invades the nerve cells were severed from the spinal cord, would the nerve die…and the virus with it. Could the nerves then be re-attached and the virus remain dead?

no. theres no getting rid of herpes. ever.

Could I have herpes after two years of no symptoms?

Posted by admin on January 21st, 2009

My ex boyfriend just told me he has herpes. I have not slept with him for 2 years now. I have never shown any symptoms. Is it possible I could have it? I just took a test and it wont be done for a week. Could I have it?

It is possible for a person to be asymptomatic (have no signs or outbreaks). So - yes there is a chance that you do have it. But, there is also a chance that you do not. So - don't panic until you get the test results.

Good Luck

How long does a herpes outbreak last and what are the symptoms?

Posted by admin on January 13th, 2009

Very curious, not sure if i have it or not.

http://genitalherpestreatment.blogspot.com/

.The initial genital herpes episode can last for more than 20 days and it is not uncommon for someone to experience a range of generalized symptoms, such as fever, aches and pains, swollen lymph nodes, as well as specific genital symptoms. For others, the initial Genital herpes infection can be mild with minimal symptoms.
Genital herpes Symptoms can start with tingling, itching, burning or pain followed by the appearance of painful red spots which, within a day or two, evolve through a phase of clear, fluid-filled blisters which rapidly turn whitish-yellow. The blisters burst, leaving painful ulcers that dry, scab over and heal in approximately 10 days. Sometimes the development of new blisters at the early ulcer stage can prolong the episode. On the other hand, the blister stage may be missed completely and ulcers may appear like small cuts or cracks in the skin.

How can you tell the difference between genital herpes and razor bumps?

Posted by admin on January 11th, 2009

Me and my ex have been broken up for almost a year now and about a month and a half ago i noticed a bump on the shaft of my penis, around the beginning of the month and a half that's when i shaved my pubic hair and i want to know if thats a razor bump or if thats genital herpes…

If the out break is mild enough it could feel like razor burn, not every one has all of the classic symptoms of an out break. Usually the first out break is very painful with blister or open sores occurring on the genitals, burning when you pee, itchy and or tingling sensations, and flu like symptoms. Herpes can also lie dormant in your body for long periods of time even after you contracted it because your immune system can suppress it.
If you have just shaved then it could be just razor burn. If your worried then get tested for herpes by your doctor.

Herpes symptoms??? Rashes - 'gritty' skin bumps? - Itching???

Posted by admin on January 9th, 2009

My oldest son knows that he has herpes -
He came to me asking if his 4th outbreak (ongoing for 2 months, now) can this time, include the symptoms that I've listed?

As I have no personal experience with this STD; the best I can advise him is to see an MD. . .

Any suggestions, or personal input, from those of you who 'deal' with this virus?

Symptoms of herpes are called outbreaks. The first outbreak appears within 2 weeks after you become infected and can last for several weeks. These symptoms might include tingling or sores near the area where the virus has entered the body, such as on the genital or rectal area, on buttocks or thighs, or occasionally on other parts of the body where the virus has entered through broken skin. They also can occur inside the vagina and on the cervix in women, or in the urinary passage of women and men. Small red bumps appear first, develop into small blisters, and then become itchy, painful sores that might develop a crust and will heal without leaving a scar.

Sometimes, there is a crack or raw area or some redness without pain, itching, or tingling.

Other symptoms that may accompany the first (and less often future) outbreak of genital herpes are fever, headache, muscle aches, painful or difficult urination, vaginal discharge, and swollen glands in the groin area.

Often, though, people don’t recognize their first or subsequent outbreaks. People who have mild or no symptoms at all may not think they are infected with herpes. They can still transmit the virus to others, however.

What are the symptoms of herpes, and should I seek treatment?

Posted by admin on January 5th, 2009

Sore/pimple on side of penis hurts to touch scale 2/10. Have only had sex with a girl about a year ago+ that I didn't know, have had gf from that time on. What is it and what should I do?

Most people during their first outbreak are in excruciating pain. I could hardly sit down, let alone walk or do anything else.

It sounds like you need to make an appointment and see your doctor. They are the ones who can properly diagnose you and offer/provide treatment.

Good luck!

What are some tips for cleaning a cat’s mouth with feline herpes?

Posted by admin on January 5th, 2009

My cat has feline herpes. I rescued her two years ago and she had most of her teeth removed. She is now having a flare up and I am having a difficult time cleaning her mouth to apply the medicine given by the vet. I am scared of hurting her. Any tips you could offer are greatly appreciated.

You can try to use a blanket and wrap it snuggly around so she doesn’t make much movement. Better still, have another person hold her while your administer medication.
