Is it possible to have genital herpes without any signs, symptoms, or outbreaks?

Posted by admin on May 14th, 2009

I had sex with a girl about a year ago, and she had herpes. I used a condom, and haven't had any symptoms at all.

Yes it is very possible. Using a condom doesn't always protect you from Herpes because it is a virus that lives on the skin, and not all your genital area is covered by the condom. This link to the CDC website will give you more information:

Can the flu-like symptoms of herpes type2 occur in reoccurring outbreaks or does it only occur in the first?

Posted by admin on May 7th, 2009

Trying to pinpoint where it came from. I think it was my ex-boyfriend because the first (and only) time we had sex, I was sick with the "flu" a few days later and the first OB followed 3 weeks later. But he hasn't mentioned anything, which makes me think maybe he doesn't have it and I had it all along, I just noticed a reoccurring outbreak.
Is it possible to get the flu-like symptoms in reoccurring outbreaks or does it only happen with the first?

Well, flu like symptoms usually occur with the first initial out break but they can occur on the second if it's as bad as the first.
But then again it could be just the flu, it's possible to have the flu with out having genital herpes.
Some people out of fear of rejection are afraid to tell their partners that they have genital herpes.
If the out break occurs again have it tested for herpes by your doctor or gyno if it turns positive then you may want to let your ex know so that he can get tested too.

do u need to have the herpes symptoms to do a test?

Posted by admin on May 4th, 2009

i did the herpes test 7 years ago and it came negative.about 3 years ago i developed pink spots on my legs and they itch.what could they be?
so if i have hives is it contagious?

Dear concerned:

Hives is usually due to an allergic reaction. Its not contagious.

For herpes, you need 2 blood tests. Hsv-1 and hsv-2. The doctor will take your blood and you will get results in a few days to 2 weeks.

Or if you dont have the hives, make a blood donation and you will get a report with your test results with ever know disease tested.

Best wishes

Normally How long does herpes symptoms last?

Posted by admin on April 24th, 2009

How long do Herpes symptoms last? How often do people normally get outbreaks?
How do u know if something is wrong? Does anyone know if anyone has every died from herpes or had a serious illness from it?

What would alert u to having too many outbreaks and if they last too long?
Isn’t there a medicine that u can take everyday to combat against outbreaks?
Will this help u not to pass it to someone who doesn’t have herpes???

Initial outbreaks can last for several weeks and outbreaks can occur often the first year or two that you are infected . Some women are triggered for example by their menstrual cycle. Herpes usually starts with a heavy weighted feeling and a tingling sensation in the genitals. Pain and intense itching can also develop in early outbreaks. Then red sores and a blister like rash can develop. Unfortunately, sometimes the rash and sores develop within the vagina and can not be easily detected.Acyclovir used to be the drug given to help combat outbreaks but now there are many different variants. Once you have herpes there is no cure and subsequent attacks can become almost unnoticeable. That is why you need to use condoms and people who have herpes need to be completely honest about their condition and the fact that they can always pass it on. If a baby passes through its mother vagina while she has a viable herpes infection, the baby can go blind or even die. That is why women who know they have been exposed will usually have a c-section to deliver. This is a very big reason to be careful about who you have sex with, because it not only affects you right now, but it can potentially affect any of the children you ever bear. There is no free ride when it comes to sex.

What are the short and long term symptoms of genital herpes?

Posted by admin on April 21st, 2009

I’m doing a physical ed. assignment on genital herpes, and i need to know what the short and long term symptoms of it are. please and thank-you.

The classic symptom of genital herpes is a cluster of small fluid-filled blisters that break, forming painful sores that crust and heal. This process can take several days.

But some people get only a rash or small bumps on the skin that appear to be pimples. Still others have different symptoms, such as painful urination, and some women have fluid discharge from the vagina.

Sores may appear four to seven days after a person is first infected. Flu-like symptoms, including fever and swollen lymph glands in the groin, may also follow the initial infection.

Symptoms come and go with no set pattern. One person may have an outbreak once a year, while another may have one every few weeks. Before a flare-up, a person may notice an itching, tingling, or burning sensation in the affected area, and there may be sharp pains in the pelvis or down the leg.

Herpes sores are usually worst the first time they appear. In later outbreaks the sores tend to be less painful and last for a shorter period of time.

The symptoms of genital herpes can affect any of the following places on the body:

Penis
Scrotum
Vulva
Vagina
Anus
Urethra
Thighs
Buttocks

Does anyone know a way to privately obtain medication to treat symptoms of herpes?

I am so embarrassed to go to my doctor and need something fast. I am miserable and can’t go on like this.

It is nothing to be embarrassed about, but it is understandable that you are. I felt the same way, tried a few different medications and have had the best luck with Valtrex. Although you may think you need a prescription for it, this is not the case. I, too, was uncomfortable visiting the doctor, so I order mine online at

http://medicalpharmacyonline.net

The medication is delivered to me the next day in an extremely discreet box. I don’t have to worry about feeling uncomfortable and judged in any way. Plus, www.medicalpharmacyonline.net is a US licensed pharmacy with US licensed physicians.

I hope this helps. I know how you feel.

How soon do genital herpes symptoms manifest themselves?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2009

In other words, when will I know if I have herpes?

That's a tricky question because not everyone who has herpes develops symptoms. Some people never have outbreaks, making it very easy for HSV2 to be spread around because people don't know they are infected. The only way to know 100% if you don't have herpes is to go to the doctor and have blood tests run.

Is it possible to develop herpes symptoms in 8-9 hours?

Edit: Only oral sex was involved.

You can pass herpes through oral sex when a person has cold sores (which contagious and caused by are oral herpes) and gives you oral sex.
Herpes symptoms can take 2-14 days to develop after having some form of sex with some one that has herpes. Or it can also take months or years to develop because your body can suppress the virus for long periods of time even after you contracted it.

Venereal Disease

Posted by admin on March 15th, 2009

Venereal disease can be anything from genital warts to herpes and is also commonly known as VD (venereal disease), STD (sexually transmitted disease), and also STI (sexually transmitted infection).

It is also known that most if not all venereal disease problems are contagious. This means that things such as herpes can be passed from one sexual partner to another through vaginal sex, oral sex, or anal sex. More frequently you will also find that a person who has a venereal disease is, or has been, sexually active with more than one partner.

Multiple sexual partners can be a very large part of contracting a venereal disease. Other reasons can include lowered immunity in a person, a deficiency of the immune system due to an illness, the overuse of drugs (such as steroid usage), stress, and poor nutrition and nutritional habits.

Many people are also at risk from a venereal disease who also have a history of STD’s, who begin sexual relations at a very young age, and who use personal items such clothing and towels of the person who is infected with a venereal disease.

It has also been shown that alcohol and cigarette consumption in more than moderate amounts can be detrimental to the health and pave the way for contracting a venereal disease more easily.

Women who are pregnant run the risk of contracting venereal disease more easily than if they were not pregnant. This is due to the fact that the body of a pregnant woman lowers its immunity to accommodate the growing fetus.

Other instances where a person can contract a venereal disease include unprotected sex, sharing of needles and such, and also in some cases, blood transfusions. And these are all only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the various methods in which a person can get a venereal disease.

Treatments for the different venereal disease infections will also vary with each infection, just as the symptoms of the different venereal disease infections also vary. Just to get a feel for the widely differing symptoms and treatments which accompany venereal disease infections, a short list of venereal disease infections have been compiled.

First and foremost is AIDS, then Genital Warts (HPV), Genital Herpes (HSV), Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and Scabies. And this is only a short list. There are more than enough venereal disease infections doing the rounds in this day and age of sexual revolution.

And the problem with the venereal disease infections which cropped up over the last 20-30 years is that these are for the most part, resistant to modern medicines. This means that most of these can’t be fully cured.

The symptoms of the venereal disease can be cured but not necessarily the venereal disease itself. At least not the modern ones like genital warts (HPV), genital herpes (HSV), and HIV/AIDS. And that is definitely not a pleasant thought.
