.The initial genital herpes episode can last for more than 20 days and it is not uncommon for someone to experience a range of generalized symptoms, such as fever, aches and pains, swollen lymph nodes, as well as specific genital symptoms. For others, the initial Genital herpes infection can be mild with minimal symptoms.
Genital herpes Symptoms can start with tingling, itching, burning or pain followed by the appearance of painful red spots which, within a day or two, evolve through a phase of clear, fluid-filled blisters which rapidly turn whitish-yellow. The blisters burst, leaving painful ulcers that dry, scab over and heal in approximately 10 days. Sometimes the development of new blisters at the early ulcer stage can prolong the episode. On the other hand, the blister stage may be missed completely and ulcers may appear like small cuts or cracks in the skin.

It depends on if it's the first one or not. usually the 1st is the longest and most painful. If you have it, you will definately know. it is quite painful. You should see a doc. right away because it is viral and extremely contagious. Although there is no cure for the virus, there are medications that can help with the pain and outbreak control.

Herpes is very contagious, so if you do have it, be careful not to kiss, share eating utentils, or share drinks with anyone.
Herpes shows up as small painful ,circular pimples or vesicles in a cluster usually around the lip area. The symptoms are tingling and itching in the affected area. It lasts for about 3 to 7 days. If you use Abreva, the outbreak time is shortened. You can get Abreva at any walmart or walgreens or cvs usually in the chapstick aisle. You don' t need a prescription.
Herpes is one of the most common viruses in the world because it is so easily spread. Once you have it, it is with you for life, meaning there is no cure. But you may not have another outbreak for 10 years. Outbreaks are usually triggered by high stress, your period, extreme heat or sunlight exposure, sickness.
I hope this helps. Good Luck.

as embarrassing as it may feel, see a doctor RIGHT away! don't try to diagnose yourself because hopefully you're wrong. If it's not herpes, it could be something else that might be curable if caught in time. Herpes isn't curable but is treatable. Get to a doctor or urgent care facility to be helped and properly diagnosed. Good luck!

It's in the form of blisters that erupt into what look like craters, if it is genital, and they last only a few days, but they are still contagious for about two weeks, even after they are gone. You can also transmit this virus even when there is not a visible outbreak, due to asymptomatic shedding. If it is in the genital area, you should always wear protection for your partner's sake, and abstain from sex completely when you are contagious. Herpes can cause cervical cancer in women and can badly damage newborn babies. Oral herpes outbreaks have less blisters than genital herpes, but they are supposed to be more painful. Genital herpes, type 2, usually occur in smaller form but in clusters. Herpes sufferers can take Valtrex once a day, as opposed to acyclovir several times per day. For more immediate healing, try vitamin e oil either by breaking open capsules of the vitamin or buying the oil itself in a bottle. Be careful not to contaminate the bottle when using it, use a clean finger each time you touch the bottle. I also read you have to be careful not to touch your eyes after touching a sore. Eating yogurt is supposed to help too. I don't know how well this stuff works, but I read a lot about it when I was dating someone who had it. Oh, and if you are a girl, corn starch is supposed to help if it is in the genital area. Good luck,
