How long does it take for genital herpes to appear?
herpes July 11th, 2009After you have had sex with someone how long does it take for the symptoms of herpes to appear?
Herpes can take any where from 2-30 days or longer if your immune system is strong enough to suppress it.
Keep an eye out for symptoms like painful itching, burning and or tingling sensations, flu like symptoms, swollen genitals, trouble or burning when you pee, blisters or open cut like sores appearing. If you have any of those symptoms then get checked out and tested for herpes at your doctor, gyno or local clinic.
I have oral and genital herpes.

It can take years, and the first outbreak you may not even notice if it is mild. This is why genital herpes is spreading so quickly, you can, if you have it, infect others without having an active lesion. So ALWAYS use protection and be very careful about whom you have sex with.

It can be as quick as seven to fourteen days but also as long as a few months before you notice anything. Go to Valtrex.com they have tons of information and a great video explaining everything from personal feelings to symptoms you may have if you have contacted the virus.

2 days to never. Meaning some people that have genital herpes have never had an outbreak and it’s only been diagnosed in a std screen.
